Amazon bestseller list is working

January 9th, 2005

I added another piece of code to my little Amazon ECS API experiment site.

It’s a category-based bestseller list - and it’s (kinda) working.

It’s “kinda working” because it doesn’t really provide a properly sorted top 10 list - but it’s the data that Amazon returns through their API when I ask it to sort by SalesRank.

I really hate it when API’s don’t return the expected results because you have no real way of telling if it’s yourself that made an error in the API call or if the API simply isn’t providing consistent results.

Anyway, a regularly changing, semi-sorted, top 10 bestseller list is just what I needed for this project, so I’m not going to pursue the malfunctioning of the API any further.
