Has Jeeves gone bananas?
He certainly seems to love one of my other sites.
The Ask Jeeves / Teoma search engine spider has been fetching 24670 pages in 21 visits in February alone - And we're less than a week into the month.
In October last year I only had 4 visits from the page gulping robot - and it only took one page each time, in November I also just got 4 visits - but it grabbed 6589 pages.
In December I had 5788 pages retrieved in 12 visits.
December was also the month ( I think) where 2020 pages made it into the Ask Jeeves and teoma search engines.
January was surprisingly quiet with only 443 pages being fetched in 14 visits.
But then the spider got greedy and grabbed 24670 pages during the first 6 days and 7 hours of february.
Now, being spidered, being indexed, and getting traffic is definitely not the same, but right now I'm seeing more hits from searches on Ask Jeeves than I see on Google and Yahoo, so I'm absolutely thrilled about all these new pages being spidered.
Now, the big question is: When will Ask Jeeves move these pages into their index?
