I’m (almost) a normal blogger
The Pew Internet & American Life Project has some fresh statistics on blogging.
The number of people who create blogs have gone slightly up, but the number of people who read blogs have skyrocketed.
So who are creating these blogs that moreand more people are reading?
Blog creators are more likely to be:
- Men: 57% are male
- Young: 48% are under age 30
- Broadband users: 70% have broadband at home
- Internet veterans: 82% have been online for six years or more
- Relatively well off financially: 42% live in households earning over $50,000
- Well educated: 39% have college or graduate degrees
I fit 5 out of 6 characteristic, so I'm almost a normal blogger.
And of all the categories I'm a misfit for the one that can't be changed - I'm too old
The last 4 can relatively easily be achieved.
The first does require some serious surgery
But there still doesn't exist an age-reversing pill or a fountain of youth ;-(
