List Profit Secrets launches today
March 15th, 2005
Graig Perrine is launching List Profit Secrets tonight with a webcast called “The Three Keys To Massive List Profits Revealed”.
I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to get my hands on a review copies of all the audio and manuals that makes up the List Profit System.
Unfortunately I’ve not been able to work my way through all the material because it didn’t come with a day-expansion kit or an hour-doubling device and I only have that many hours in a day.
So what I can offer you at this point is an incomplete review of Graigs work.
First off, it’s really quite interesting that a product geared at producing your own niche product (Underachiever Mastery System) and a product geared at building a list (List Profit Secrets) has the same initial approach.
But this is exactly what my first thought was when I started reviewing List Profit Secrets.
But even if the two products on the surface seem to be the same they have their own dstinct purpose.
The Under Achiever Mastery System is all about researching a profitable niche, have a product created (or create it yourself), and then simply sell it through PPC advertising. The force of the Underachiever mastery system is that it’s a simple straightforward process where you end up with a product that requires little to none support, sales copy tweaking – and most importantly no follow-up emails or any list maintenance.
The focus of the List Profitt Secrets is slightly different.
Here the focus is on finding an already existing product in a profitable niche, and then build a list to promote it to.
The first thing I looked at was the 26 page Quick Start Guide which is very similar to Ed Dale and Frank Kern’s Underachiever Mastery System.
The quick start guide gives you a nice overview of the 29 steps that the system is made up of.
The Quick Stat Guide takes you through the steps of finding and evaluating a niche, picking a domain name, finding a web host, cloaking your affiliate links, setting up ClickBank and PayPal accounts, getting a HTML editor, setting up your site, getting an autoresponder account and driving traffic to your site.
Steps 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 10 are accompanied by Camtasia screen captures totaling 30:48 with the biggest video covering using Google to spy on your competition in your chosen niche.
The Quick Start Guide alone will not help you build a profitable list, but it should serve as a nicely reminder about the steps you go through, or a very general introduction to the concept behind the List Profit Secrets system.
But the quick start guide is just a very small part of the list building profit secrets.
The List Profit Secrets Training Guide Part 1 is the first meaty part of the system.
It’s a 378 page PDF file which is actually transcripts of the audios in Set 1
Set 1 - Disc 2 - Proven FREE List Building Methods Part I 11.7 Mb = 1:06:56
Set 1 - Disc 3 - Proven FREE List Building Methods Part II 27.8 Mb = 0:59:17
Set 1 - Disc 4, Part 1 - Proven FREE List Building Methods Part III 4.5 Mb = 0:25:33
Set 1 - Disc 4, Part 2 - Proven FREE List Building Methods Part III 6.4 Mb = 0:35:44
Disc 2, 3 & 4 totals up more than 3 hours - 3:07:30 to be exact - of Graig going through several different free list building methods and taking questions from participants.
Set 1 - Disc 5 - Proven Paid List Building Methods Part I 8.5 Mb = 0:48:09
Set 1 - Disc 6 - Proven Paid List Building Methods Part II 9.5 Mb = 0:54:05
Disk 5 and 6 is almost 2 hours (1:42:14) where Graig goes through several different list building strategies that are not free.
By now you would have been listening to just under 5 hours of audio – or have been going through 66 pages of transcripts.
Set 1 - Disc 7 - How Blogs and RSS Build You Responsive Lists 7.7 Mb = 0:42:07
This in an interview with Tom Parish about blogging and RSS and I must tell you that I’m not impressed.
It’s basically Tom telling Graig what his own company is doing with blogs and RSS feeds. There’s a short intro to what blogs and RSS is, but nothing much about how you specifically use blogs and RSS feeds to grow your list.
It’s also the chapter where Tom says the following:”Anybody that has a RSS Reader or RSS Aggregator, which are kind of like search engines, will be notified of that and the information gets transmitted.”
This is totally not the case. RSS readers/aggregators are not search engines – not even close – and they are not even “kind of like search engines”. And RSS readers doesn’t get notified – they query the RSS feed at intervals to see if there are new entries since last. And no information gets transmitted – RSS readers fetch the information from the RSS feed.
My recommendation is to just skip this chapter as it teaches you nothing about truly using blogs and RSS feeds to their fullest potentials – and it doesn’t even tell you how to use them as a part of your list building arsenal.
I think that this chapter can be summed up to this: People reading your blog will come to know you, and will be more inclined to join your list.
Go for Paul Short’s RSS Exposed if you want to learn how to set up and use blogs and RSS feeds – and then use Graigs list building techniques to turn the traffic you’ll get into list members.
Set 1 - Disc 8 - Pay-Per-Click Profits: How To Get Laser-Targeted Subscribers With Money To Spend 6.7 Mb = 0:38:05
This is an interview with Dearl Miller of Trafficology about using Pay-Per-Click advertising to drive traffic to your site. It’s much better than the Tom Parish interview because it goes into many of the pitfalls you risk running into when you start using PPC advertising.
It’s one of the better interviews, but nothing immediately useable when it comes to list building.
Set 1 - Disc 9 - Amazing Amazon ™ List Building Strategies 11.3 Mb = 1:03:15
Randy Gilbert
Randy Gilbert – who is the host of The Inside Success Show – has produced some great stuff over the years. I’ve listened to several of his interviews with people such as Joel Christopher, Terri Levine, Bob Scheinfeld, Claude Diamond, Dan Robey, David Riklan, Gary Knuckles, Greg Reid, Jack Zufelt, Jay Conrad Levinson (which by the way got transcribed into “Livingston” in Graigs course), Joe Vitale, John Assaraf and Mark Joyner.
This is, so far, the most immediately useable interview yet. Randy Gilbert talks about several different ways to use Amazon to drive traffic to your site. And the information is so detailed that you can go out and do it right away after completing the chapter.
The list building side of it all is lacking – as it has been in the previous two interviews.
Set 1 - Disc 10 - How To Build A List Of Buyers Using eBay ™ 8.8 Mb = 0:49:55
This interview with Bill Hibbler is the first one that is specifically geared at list building. The tips Bill shares about using Ebay® are all aimed at producing leads for your lists. It’s definitely the most-on-target chapter so far.
And this is sadly how far I got in my review.
Set 2 cover the following topics
- The Secrets Of Managing And Mailing Your
- How To Manage Your List For Maximum Profits
- Permission Email Marketing Made Easy
- Secrets Of Getting Your Email Sent And Delivered
- Secrets to Finding Out Exactly What Your List Wants
- Co-registration List Secrets
- Smart Sub-Listing Secrets
- The Secret Power of the Simplified Internet Marketing Profit Model
Unfortunately I haven’t had the time to go over that part of the audios, videos and manuals, but I expect this to be the meat of the system.
